DIPLOMA OF SPECIALIST MAKE-UP SERVICES

We are anticipating this course will be accredited by February 2017 as we are partnering with an existing RTO.

School students can participate in this course as part of their school timetable, and should be at least 15 years old.  No prior knowledge or experience is required.  Course Terms are within Queensland School Terms.

This is a detailed and comprehensive course tailored to those wishing to become a freelance make-up artist and work in all areas of make-up in the entertainment industry.

Expressions of interest are now being taken.  A deposit of $100 will secure your place in this course and is fully refundable.  Bookings are essential.

Course Information:

Learn how to prepare the skin, effectively remove and apply full make-ups for Film, Theatre, Television, Bridal, Editorial – Fashion Magazine, Glamour Photographic Studio, and Catwalk.

Special effects make-up application is included in this course. It involves creating prosthetic pieces and injury simulation for film, stage, theatre and television, using specialist make-up products and equipment. Character analysis, scenarios, lighting types and theatre sizes are covered in detail.

Hair styling for all aspects of your make-up and hair career are covered in our comprehensive hair units.

Communication and sound business skills are an essential part of running your own small business and are covered comprehensively during this course.  Other units include camouflage make-up for tattoos and birth marks.

We do not require you to bring a model as you work on other course participants, however, in the event of an assessment you will be notified prior if a model is necessary.

Work Experience:

Students will be required to complete 50 additional work experience hours in the industry.  Some of these hours will be offered by Makeup Academy Noosa.

Make-up Kit Information:

Please note the Make-up Kit of your choice (Kit 1 or Kit 2), the Professional Brush Set of your choice (10 or 15 piece) and the Hair Kit are compulsory to purchase when studying at the Academy and are separate to the course and administration costs.  You will be required to bring your own disposables to each lesson.

Once you have received course confirmation, you will be required to pay a deposit for Administration Costs (includes Special Effects and Theatre products), Make-up Kit, Brush set and Hair Kit total cost.  The balance $9800 is due on or before the first day of your course unless you choose a payment plan.  This deposit is non-refundable.

Support Services:

Prior to commencement of our Certificate Courses, we assess and identify any support services necessary, to provide learners with every opportunity to complete their chosen qualification.

Confidence is gained in product knowledge through daily activities. Each lesson includes visuals, information, research, design and application.
